MOD Schools Music Service

The MOD Schools Music Service was formed in the Autumn Term of 1999. The aim of this service is to make instrumental tuition available to Service children educated overseas and to provide musical opportunities that will enrich their lives and build skills for the future.

Instrumental tuition is provided at SHAPE as follows:
The pupil will receive small group or individual lessons in school during the school week. All the MOD Schools Music Service staff are highly qualified instrumental specialists who will be available to teach a minimum of 30 lessons per academic year.

Tuition is primarily in piano, ukulele, guitar and violin. Should resources allow, MOD Schools Music Service will consider applications for other instruments. For example, if your child has been having lessons on another instrument at another school and already has their own instrument and book(s) we may be able to offer a continuation of learning.

If you are interested in your child participating in these music lessons, please apply on the above website, not through the school. If you have any questions or would like to follow up an application please email
